Central Perk coffee shop unfolds in New York to celebrate Friends' 20 year anniversary

Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Pheobe spent countless hours sitting on the popular orange couch drinking coffee and talk about everything. Well, now you could do the same - if you are in New York this month. A real life version of the well known Central Perk coffee shop opened earlier on Wednesday to celebrate the Friends' 20th anniversary that premiered on 22nd September,1994.

A long queue stretched down the road as Friends fans awaited long for their scope to recreate the coffee shop scenes made well known by actors Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc during the 10 year run of the show.

When none of the 6 lead cast members did not came for the opening, James Michael Tyler - who made the character Gunther very popular - was there to meet and greet the fans of the show. The actor would also make an appearance when the pop-up shop shut downs on 18th October.

The same orange couch which featured in almost each episode of the show as the characters spent time and drank coffee is on display, with the rooters taking turns to have a sit and have their snap taken on it. Along with this, there are pieces of show memorabilia, like Chandler's wedding vows, Monica's engagement ring, Joey's Soap Digest cover as well as Phoebe's sister Ursula's sex tape.
